LED displays are now a favorite in outdoor media, boasting vibrant colors, wide reach, and 24-hour advertising capabilities, playing a vital role in information dissemination and urban beautification. But what are some things to keep in mind when purchasing an outdoor LED screen?

1. Screen Quality

Outdoor LED displays differ from indoor displays, requiring higher screen quality. Therefore, choose a screen with higher resolution and a special coating to ensure clear visibility under sunlight and prevent glare.

2. Waterproofing and Dustproofing

For outdoor LED displays to function properly, they must overcome the effects of rain and dust. Outdoors, LED displays must be installed with a waterproof and dustproof structure, with a protection rating of IP65 (completely preventing dust ingress and water rinsing without damage). However, for locations near rivers or beaches, IP66 or IP67 ratings are preferable.

3. Temperature Control

Outdoors, LED displays can operate normally in temperatures ranging from -20°C to 65°C. In summer, in addition to heat generated by the internal electronic components of the LEDs, there is also heat from solar radiation. In this case, the LED screen can be cooled by fans or by using heat-dissipating coatings to maintain a suitable temperature.

4. Safety

Outdoor LED screens are generally located in public places with high foot traffic, so safety is a crucial consideration. When purchasing LED displays, it is advisable to choose special tempered laminated glass. In the event of breakage, the fragments will adhere to the interlayer, reducing the risk of accidents.

5. Theft and Lightning Protection

Outdoors, theft prevention is equally important. During installation, screws should not be exposed to reduce the risk of theft. Similarly, LED displays should be equipped with lightning protection devices to prevent damage during thunderstorms.
