I. Why is a 2-meter height optimal?
1. Because the average human height is around 1.7m, and a model's average height is around 1.8m, a 20cm margin is needed vertically on the screen. Therefore, the ideal screen height is around 2 meters, allowing the model to occupy about 90% of the poster screen. This ensures the displayed image is level with the model, providing a 1:1 display without scaling, creating an immersive experience and achieving the best display effect. It also better suits the user's usage scenario and experience. Furthermore, it allows for cloud-based cluster control and unified backend management, enabling remote control.
2. Traditional roll-up banners and display stands are 2 meters high. Poster screens (advertising screens), as a more intelligent display medium, can seamlessly display traditional roll-up banner and display stand design files, enabling rapid replacement.
II. Why is a 1.8mm pitch and 6 cabinets optimal?
Based on ergonomic research and daily usage habits, 16:9 2K screens are the most popular. Therefore, Korent designed six pre-built poster screens that can be directly combined to achieve a 1920*1080 resolution. Each poster screen has a resolution of 320*1080, and each screen is composed of six cabinets, meaning each cabinet has 320*180 pixels. To maintain the 16:9 aspect ratio, each cabinet was custom-made to 600*337.5 pixels, resulting in a optimal pixel pitch of 1.875 (600/320 or 337.5/180).
If cabinets with a pitch higher than 2.0 were used, the resolution would be less than 2K, affecting playback quality. If cabinets with a pitch lower than 1.8 were used, the resolution would exceed 2K, requiring users to customize additional materials and increasing the cost of the main control card, ultimately leading to a significant increase in product cost.
III. Why not use 640*480 or 640*320 cabinets?
Based on scientific research on human anatomy, it was discovered that the field of vision of both eyes is a rectangle with a length-to-width ratio of 16:9. Therefore, the television and monitor industries design products according to this golden ratio, hence 16:9 is known as the "golden ratio" for display technology. Furthermore, 16:9 is the international standard for high-definition television, used in Australia, Japan, Canada, the United States, and European satellite television and some non-HD widescreen televisions. my country's standards for digital high-definition displays were issued in 2004, explicitly stating that the screen aspect ratio should be 16:9.
However, a poster screen composed of 640*480 cabinets has a final aspect ratio of 4:3, and a poster screen composed of 640*320 cabinets has a final aspect ratio of 2:1, resulting in a less visually appealing overall experience compared to the 16:9 golden ratio. A 600*337.5 cabinet, however, has a length-to-width ratio of exactly 16:9, and six poster screens can be combined to form a single 16:9 screen.
