Why are creative LED displays more expensive?

The higher price of creative LED displays is mainly influenced by factors such as pixel pitch, waterproofing requirements, customization complexity and mold design, and the quantity ordered. Specifically:

I. The Impact of Pixel Pitch on Price
Pixel pitch is one of the key factors affecting the price of creative LED displays. A smaller pixel pitch means smaller spacing between LEDs, resulting in a higher LED density on the same area of the display. For example, P3 has a pixel pitch of 3mm, while P4 and P5 have relatively larger pixel pitches.

Smaller pixel pitch displays offer a more refined display effect, but also significantly increase material costs. Because more LEDs are needed, and the quality and consistency of the LEDs are more critical, the material cost of P3 is significantly higher than that of P4 or P5.

II. The Need for Waterproofing
Waterproofing is essential for outdoor creative LED displays, and the process is complex and costly. Indoor displays typically meet daily waterproofing needs, but outdoor environments are complex and changeable, requiring screens to withstand various harsh weather conditions such as heavy rain and typhoons.

The waterproofing treatment for outdoor screens must not only ensure waterproofing but also guarantee long-term durability. This requires the use of special materials and processes, such as sealants and waterproof covers, which undoubtedly increases production costs and thus prices.

III. Customization Difficulty and Mold Design
Creative LED displays often have unique shapes and designs, which increases the difficulty of customization. If the manufacturer has not produced similar products before, a production plan needs to be designed from scratch, including mold design and circuit layout.

The complexity and engineering difficulty of the customization plan directly affect the price. For example, P2 spherical screens, due to their high technical requirements and complex processes, require precise molds and special installation methods, and their prices are often twice or even higher than P3 or P4.

IV. The Impact of Customization Quantity
Customization quantity is also an important factor affecting the price of creative LED displays. For products with fewer materials and smaller customization quantities, the unit price is usually higher. This is because manufacturers need to specifically arrange production, and due to the small quantity, economies of scale cannot be used to reduce costs.

Small-batch production also requires multiple debugging and optimizations to ensure the performance and quality of the display. This further increases production costs, leading to higher prices. Some manufacturers are even unwilling to accept such orders because of limited profit margins.
