What kind of outdoor LED display screen should you choose? LED electronic screens are a perfect combination of technology and media, showcasing concepts of fantasy, technology, trendiness, and fashion to the fullest.
They can undoubtedly become a new force in stage design. New indoor large-scale LED screens and outdoor advertising formats are constantly emerging, from traditional LED billboards to monochrome scrolling screens, and now to full-color LED screens. Outdoor media advertising formats have become increasingly trendy and fashionable with the development of the LED industry.
Currently, outdoor LED screens occupy 80% of the outdoor media advertising market, becoming a new carrier for large-scale outdoor media advertising. With its unique advantages, LED displays have gradually replaced traditional billboards, three-sided rotating displays, light boxes, etc., becoming a new force in the advertising media industry.
In recent years, with increasingly strict approval processes for advertising screen locations and market control over total volume, the market space in second- and third-tier cities is large, but market size and quality demands have decreased, leading to vicious price competition, declining profit margins, and increasingly tight cash flow. The situation of phased payments and operating revenue sharing is becoming increasingly serious. To maintain their competitive advantage and further develop in the outdoor media market, LED display manufacturers need not only unique innovation but also to strengthen product standardization to meet general application needs or cater to the specific needs of niche markets, thus creating a differentiated competitive advantage.
The main application locations for advertising media LED displays include buildings, landmarks, busy streets, train stations, airports, shopping malls, squares, parks, and communities.
What pixel pitch (P4, P5, P6, P8, P10, P16, P20) is generally considered best for outdoor LED displays? Currently, outdoor full-color LED displays are available in P4, P5, P6, P8, P10, P16, and P20. How should one choose among these types?
I. Based on Viewing Distance
P generally represents pixel pitch, and the value after P indicates the distance between two pixels, commonly known as dot pitch. A smaller dot pitch value means a higher pixel density, resulting in a clearer image and making it more suitable for close-range viewing.
Therefore, for outdoor LED displays, P6 or P8 are generally used for very close distances, P10 or P12 for slightly longer distances, and P16 for even longer distances.
II. Based on Area
1. For areas less than 10 square meters, a P6 high-definition outdoor display screen is recommended (if funds allow);
2. For areas between 10 and 20 square meters, a P8 full-color display screen is recommended;
3. For areas between 20 and 100 square meters, with a viewing distance of more than 10 meters, a P10 full-color display screen is recommended;
4. For areas over 100 square meters, with a viewing distance of more than 30 meters, a P16 display screen can be considered.
Actually, area and viewing distance are related. The farther the viewing distance, the larger the screen area will be. In this case, the requirement for display screen clarity is not very high, so a display screen with a large pixel pitch is sufficient. Of course, if you have the budget, you can choose a small-pitch screen, but the cost will be much higher and not cost-effective.
Therefore, we suggest that customers choose a P-level display screen based on their actual requirements, combined with the screen area, cabinet type, budget, etc. The most suitable one is the best. Currently, the most commonly used models for outdoor LED displays are P4 and P5.
