The LED display control system is the core component of an LED screen. It primarily receives image and video information from a computer's serial port or DVI interface, stores it in a frame memory, and then displays the content. It is mainly divided into synchronous and asynchronous systems. Below is a comparative analysis of these two control systems:

I. Synchronous LED Display Control System
This system is mainly used to display video, text, images, and announcements in real time. It is primarily used for indoor or outdoor full-color large-screen displays. The synchronous control system operates essentially the same as a computer monitor, updating at least 60 frames per second to map the image on the computer monitor in real time. It typically has multi-grayscale color display capabilities, achieving multimedia advertising effects.

Its characteristics include: real-time performance, rich expressiveness, relatively complex operation, and high price. Since the content on the computer monitor is displayed synchronously, if the computer is turned off, the LED display will not display anything, thus limiting playback time. This system is mainly used in locations with high real-time requirements.

II. Asynchronous LED Display Control System
Also known as an offline LED display control system or offline card. This system is mainly used to display various text, symbols, graphics, or animations. The displayed information is edited by a computer, pre-loaded into the LED screen's frame memory via an RS232/485 serial port, and then displayed screen by screen in a loop, offering a rich and varied display experience.

Its features include: simple operation, low cost, and wide applicability. Its most significant advantage is the ability to control the display screen content in designated areas, asynchronously with the content on the computer monitor. The content is edited on the computer first, then sent to the control card, which then displays it. Therefore, even when the computer is off, the LED display can still show information, although the amount of information displayed will be limited due to the control card's storage capacity. It is suitable for locations where real-time performance requirements are not high.
