LCD video walls and LED electronic screens differ in display technology, resolution, bezel width, application functions, and installation environment, as detailed below:

I. Different Display Technologies
LCD video walls use LCD backlighting technology. Their display principle is the same as that of home televisions, controlling the transmission of light by changing the arrangement of liquid crystal molecules under the influence of an electric field to achieve image display. However, the resolution of LCD video walls is typically 1920x1080, while the resolution of current home televisions has reached 3840x2160.

LED displays are based on light-emitting diode (LED) technology, using red, green, and blue LED chips packaged into pixels for display. Common examples include traffic lights and billboards, which use LED display technology to control the on/off state and brightness of different colored LEDs in each pixel to create various colors and images.

II. Different Resolutions
LCD video walls have the advantage of achieving high-definition display, with a standard resolution of 1920*1080, capable of clearly presenting high-definition images and video content.

LED displays have a relatively large pixel pitch, resulting in a significantly lower resolution than LCD video walls for the same display area. While increasing the display area can increase the resolution to high-definition levels, the viewing experience is still inferior to LCD video walls, with image detail and clarity affected.

Third, the bezel design differs. LCD video walls have bezels of varying sizes, ranging from 0.88 to 5.5mm on both sides. After splicing, physical black borders appear between the screens. When displaying a single image, these black borders disrupt the integrity and continuity of the picture, affecting the viewing experience.

LED displays have an advantage in splicing; regardless of the splicing method used, there are no black border issues, ensuring a complete image display and providing a seamless visual experience.

Fourth, the application functions differ. LCD video walls, with their high-definition display and multiple functions such as splicing and splitting, are primarily used in fields with high display quality requirements. For example, product showrooms can display product details on a high-definition large screen; conference rooms facilitate multi-screen displays and sharing of meeting content; news radio stations use it to broadcast news footage in real time; and monitoring centers can display multiple monitoring screens simultaneously for comprehensive situational awareness.

LED displays are more suitable for long-distance viewing scenarios, such as outdoor plazas, where their high brightness and long viewing distance meet the needs of large groups viewing from a distance; in shopping malls, they can be used to display advertisements and promotional information; and in conference halls, they can present large-scale conference topics and presentations.

V. Different Installation Environments
The liquid crystal material in LCD splicing screens is not waterproof, therefore they are mainly used in indoor environments to ensure normal operation and lifespan.

LED displays have good environmental adaptability, and can be installed indoors or used in various complex outdoor environments. Their waterproof, sunproof, and windproof characteristics allow them to work stably under different climatic conditions.
