The main differences between LCD and OLED screens are as follows:
Light Emitting Principle:
LCD Screen: Commonly known as a rigid screen, it does not emit light itself and requires a backlight module.
OLED Screen: A flexible screen that emits light independently without a backlight module.
Thickness:
LCD Screen: Due to the presence of a backlight layer and a liquid crystal layer, it is relatively thick.
OLED Screen: Without a backlight layer, it is easier to achieve an ultra-thin design. For portable devices such as mobile phones, it can be thinner, allowing for more components to be incorporated and improving the overall user experience.
Contrast Ratio:
LCD Screen: Due to the presence of a backlight layer, black is not pure black, making it difficult to achieve high contrast.
OLED Screen: Black does not emit light; some pixels in black areas can be turned off, achieving near-zero black. Theoretically, the contrast ratio is infinite, resulting in pure and delicate colors.
