The waterproof and moisture-proof measures for outdoor LED displays and the remedial methods are as follows:
Waterproof and moisture-proof measures
Production and manufacturing process
PCB board processing: When manufacturing LED display screens, the PCB board should undergo anti-corrosion treatment, such as applying three-proof paint on the surface, etc.
Accessory selection: Choose high-quality power supplies and power cords.
Box sealing: Use a waterproof box and ensure good sealing performance. The screen body must reach the IP65 protection level.
Welding protection: The welding area is the most prone to corrosion, so it is necessary to take proper protective measures.
Frame treatment: The frame is prone to rusting, so proper rust prevention measures should be taken.
Unit panel processing: For different unit panel materials, specialized waterproof coatings are required; check if there are waterproof grooves on the unit panel kit.
Back panel waterproofing: When dealing with the waterproofing issue of the back panel of outdoor LED displays, it is necessary to pay attention to this. When installing the waterproof coating on the back, drill a row of drainage holes beneath the aluminum-plastic board. This not only helps protect the display from water but also facilitates heat dissipation of the display.
On-site installation construction
Combination of prevention and drainage: In the structural design, prevention and drainage are combined. After the structure is determined, based on the characteristics of the structure, materials with hollow tube structure, small permanent deformation rate, and large tensile elongation rate, etc., that have sealing properties can be considered. After selecting the sealing strip material, the appropriate contact surface and contact force need to be designed to make the sealing strip compressed into a dense state.
Key protection: At certain installation and waterproof channel locations, implement key protection measures to ensure that there is no water accumulation inside the display screen.
Daily usage process
Regular use: The outdoor screen needs to be used frequently because the display screen in working condition will generate some heat, which can evaporate some water vapor and significantly reduce the possibility of short circuit caused by moisture. During the rainy season, the LED screen should be used at least once a week and turned on at least once a month for more than 2 hours.
Inlet water remediation method
Dry the screen body: Use a fan or other tools as quickly as possible to completely dry the screen body of the LED display that has been flooded.
Power-on aging: After the screen body has been completely dried, power it on for aging. The specific operation method is as follows:
Set the brightness (all white) to 10%, and power on for 8 - 12 hours.
Set the brightness (to full white) to 30%, and then let it age for 12 hours after powering on.
Set the brightness (to full white) to 60%, and then let it age under power for 12 to 24 hours.
Set the brightness (to full white) to 100%, and then let it age for 8 to 12 hours after powering on.
Notes for Attention
Do not place the LED screen panel that has already been soaked in water into the aviation box. This will easily damage the LED lights.
When the warehouse is flooded, the aviation box may also get wet. All aviation boxes need to be exposed to the sun to prevent the moisture from evaporating into the LED display screen after being packed.
If the water-soaked LED display screen is not dealt with in time, it may affect the stability of the screen panel. During emergency handling, the screen may experience continuous failure to turn off.
All water-soaked LED display screen panels that have been inside the aviation box for more than 3 days generally have no repair value. Such screens need to be handled with caution.
