II. Choosing Pixel Pitch Based on Viewing Distance
Close-range viewing (1-5 meters): Small pixel pitch models must be selected, such as P2.5 and below (P1.8, P2, etc.). The smaller the pixel pitch, the higher the pixel density, and the less noticeable the jagged edges of text, making it suitable for displaying fine details (such as PPT presentations and high-definition images).
Medium-range viewing (5-15 meters): P3 models can be used, striking a balance between clarity and cost, suitable for shopping mall signage, stage backdrops, and other scenarios.
Long-range viewing (15 meters and above): P4 and above models are sufficient to meet the needs; excessively small pixel pitch would be a waste of resources, suitable for outdoor billboards, sports venues, and other scenarios.
Core principle: The smaller the pixel pitch value, the more pixels per unit area, and the finer the display effect, but the cost increases exponentially. The "minimum visible pixel pitch" should be calculated based on the actual viewing distance. The formula is: Minimum pixel pitch (mm) ≤ Viewing distance (m) × 0.85. For example, for a viewing distance of 5 meters, the pixel pitch should be ≤ 4.25mm; in this case, P3 (3mm) and P2.5 (2.5mm) both meet the requirements. III. Determining Brand Tier Based on Budget
High-end budget: Prioritize brands such as Leyard, Unilumin, Lanpu, and Lehman. These brands have technological advantages in chip driver technology, color reproduction, and heat dissipation design, making them suitable for scenarios with stringent display requirements (such as TV studios and high-end conference rooms).
Mid-range budget: Strong brands offer a good balance of performance and price. Their products have core parameters such as brightness uniformity and refresh rate that are close to high-end brands, but at 30%-50% lower prices, suitable for corporate showrooms and school auditoriums.
Low-cost requirements: Brands like Haijia and Gaoke offer basic functional products, suitable for budget-constrained scenarios (such as community bulletin boards and temporary event stages). Note that these products may have issues such as color deviation and shorter lifespan; it is recommended to require suppliers to provide at least a 2-year warranty.
IV. Key Parameter Verification
Refresh rate: Dynamic image display requires ≥3840Hz to avoid scanning lines; static display can be relaxed to 1920Hz.
Brightness: Indoor scenarios recommend 800-1500 cd/㎡, outdoor scenarios require ≥5000 cd/㎡ to cope with strong light environments.
Color gamut coverage: Prioritize NTSC 90% or DCI-P3 color gamut products for more realistic color reproduction.
Maintenance method: Front maintenance design (magnetic modules) saves space for future maintenance, suitable for embedded installation scenarios.
