Stage LED Rental Screen Selection Guide
In stage settings such as concerts and music festivals, the selection of LED rental screens directly determines the visual presentation and operating costs. The decision should be based on a comprehensive assessment of three dimensions: scene requirements, technical parameters, and ease of maintenance.
Matching pixel pitch to viewing distance is crucial. For small indoor performances, the viewing distance is typically 5-10 meters, so P2.5-P3 specifications are sufficient to ensure clarity at close range, avoiding increased costs due to unnecessarily small pixel pitch. For large outdoor events, the viewing distance is often 10-50 meters, and P3-P4 specifications strike a balance between cost and display effect. Every 0.5mm reduction in pixel pitch increases the cost by approximately 20%, so the choice should be made based on the budget. In terms of brightness, 1500-2000 nits is sufficient for indoor scenes, while outdoor scenes require more than 3500 nits to combat strong sunlight and prevent image washout.
Refresh rate and grayscale level are key to ensuring the quality of live stage broadcasts and dynamic images. For stage live broadcasts, a refresh rate of ≥960Hz is required to avoid flickering during filming; for high-end performances, a refresh rate of 3840Hz or higher is recommended, coupled with 16-bit grayscale, to ensure smooth, natural color transitions in high-speed dynamic images without ghosting or moiré patterns during photography and videography. Die-cast aluminum is the preferred cabinet material, with a single cabinet weighing approximately 7kg, offering high strength and suitability for quick installation. The splicing accuracy should be controlled within 0.1mm to ensure seamless images, and cabinets supporting -15° to 15° curved splicing can better meet the needs of creative stage designs.
Signal compatibility and backup systems are also crucial. Rental screens should support multiple signal inputs such as HDMI, SDI, and DP to avoid equipment connection failures; the configuration of primary and backup power supplies and dual signal sources can effectively reduce the risk of performance interruptions. For maintenance design, front maintenance requires a minimum of 50cm of operating space, while rear maintenance requires a minimum of 80cm of access space for easy and quick troubleshooting.
The selection criteria vary depending on the specific scenario. For indoor corporate events (10-20㎡), a P2.5 LED display with 1800 nits brightness, IP40 rating, and rear maintenance is suitable; for outdoor music festivals (50-100㎡), a P3.91 LED display with 4200 nits brightness, IP65 rating, and front maintenance is required; and for live concert main screens, a high-end configuration with P2.0 pixel pitch, 3840Hz refresh rate, and a dual backup system should be chosen. Before making a selection, it is recommended to conduct a site survey and develop a plan based on the event scale, viewing distance, and budget. Sample testing should be used if necessary to ensure the display effect meets expectations.
