In an LED electronic display screen, the ratio of the number of rows lit simultaneously to the total number of rows in the area is called the scanning method. Scanning is further divided into several driving methods, such as 1/2 scan, 1/4 scan, 1/8 scan, and 1/16 scan. This means that different driving methods require different settings for the receiving card. If the receiving card was originally used on a 1/4 scan screen and is now used on a static screen, the display will show one row lit every four rows. Generally, receiving cards can be configured. After connecting the transmitting card, display screen, computer, and other main components, the settings can be configured through the relevant software on the computer. Here, we will first introduce the scanning modes and principles of LED electronic displays.
LED Electronic Display Screen Scanning Methods:
1. Dynamic Scanning: Dynamic scanning implements "point-to-column" control from the output of the driver IC to the pixels. Dynamic scanning requires control circuitry and is cheaper than static scanning, but the display effect is poorer, with greater brightness loss.
2. Static Scanning: Static scanning implements point-to-point control from the driver IC output to the pixel. Static scanning does not require control circuitry, and while its cost is higher than dynamic scanning, it offers advantages such as better display quality, higher stability, and less brightness loss.
Classification of Scanning Methods According to LED Electronic Display Type
1. Indoor Full-Color LED Electronic Display Scanning Methods: P4 and P5 are constant current 1/16, P6 and P7.62 are constant current 1/8.
Outdoor Full-Color LED Electronic Display Scanning Methods: P10 and P12 are constant current 1/2 and 1/4 respectively, P16, P20, and P25 are static.
