When buying an LED display screen, the most important question is "how many years can it last?" The specifications say a mean time between failures (MTBF) of ≥10,000 hours and a half-life of ≥50,000 hours. Assuming 24/7 continuous operation, theoretically it could last over 11 years, which seems incredibly appealing.

However, to be honest: theoretical lifespan is ideal data from a laboratory setting. The actual lifespan depends entirely on two key factors: "inherent quality" and "post-construction maintenance."

I. Inherent Quality: Raw Materials + Manufacturing Processes Set the Lower Limit of Lifespan

This is the core factor determining the lifespan of an LED screen, equivalent to a person's "innate constitution."

Raw materials are fundamental: Inferior materials in core components such as LED chips, circuit boards, power supplies, and control cards significantly shorten the lifespan. Large brands independently develop core components like LED chips and housings, and select top-tier brands for chips and power supplies, ensuring stability from the source. Smaller manufacturers use generic components, which may result in dead LEDs or screen flickering after only six months. Production process is key: automated production, end-to-end quality control, and final inspection before shipment are all indispensable. Large manufacturers' automated production processes minimize human error, and coupled with rigorous testing, maximize the screen's durability.

Simply put: good materials + good manufacturing processes ensure the screen's actual lifespan approaches its theoretical value.

II. Post-production maintenance: Environment + upkeep extend lifespan. Even with a good foundation, proper maintenance is crucial; otherwise, even the best screen will prematurely fail.

Using the right environment is essential. LED screens are most vulnerable to high temperatures, high humidity, high dust levels, and strong corrosion. Remember its optimal operating range: temperature -20℃ to 50℃, humidity 10% to 90% RH; keep away from flammable materials, acids, alkalis, and salts; always disconnect power and shut down during thunderstorms.

Routine maintenance is key.

Regular dust removal: Dust clogging the ventilation holes can burn out the power supply. Just wipe the surface with a dry, soft cloth; do not rinse with water.

Old screen restoration: Don't replace an old screen directly. First, repair the faulty parts, clean the entire device, and then perform point-by-point calibration. This can extend its lifespan for several more years.

Timely troubleshooting: Don't delay if you encounter flickering or uneven brightness. Small problems can develop into big ones and cost more money.
