LED displays are preferred for outdoor use, with brightness levels exceeding 8000 nits, ensuring bright images even in direct sunlight. Due to the wide outdoor space and longer viewing distances, higher resolution requirements make them widely used.
DID displays can be used in semi-outdoor settings. High-brightness products offer 700 nits, while specialized products can reach 2000 nits, suitable for displaying detailed images in semi-outdoor environments.
2. Continuous Use Capability:
Both LED and DLP displays can be used continuously for extended periods. Their large heat dissipation area and emission imaging principle allow for long-term operation.
The optimal daily usage time for DID displays is 20 hours. Due to their transmission imaging principle, heat dissipation of the display components is a significant challenge. Although many manufacturers claim 24/7 operation, panel supplier Samsung's specifications consistently limit it to 20 hours, with specific requirements for image content. Displaying static images can lead to image burn-in. 3. Can Viewers Watch for Extended Periods?
DID products allow for extended viewing. DID products employ multiple filters between the light source and the image, effectively filtering out ultraviolet (UV) radiation. Prolonged viewing will not damage the eyes.
LED displays are more suitable for high-traffic areas. Besides only having a single effective filter, UV radiation can still escape, and in some situations, excessive brightness can affect the eyesight during prolonged viewing, leading to vision loss.
For example, the brightness of televisions and monitors ranges from 150 nits to 700 nits. Prolonged use in excessively bright or dark environments can affect the viewer's eyesight.

4. Display Quality Requirements
Image quality encompasses many aspects, including detail, color saturation, contrast, and overall visual appeal, and is also related to the displayed content.
For displaying dynamic and detailed images, DID (Digital Image Display) is superior. DID has a pixel pitch of less than 0.6mm and a response time of less than 8ms, making it suitable for displaying dynamic images.
For ultra-large area dynamic effects and color saturation, LED is superior, especially in terms of the stunning impact of ultra-large area displays, which is unmatched by the other two technologies. Compared to the other two display technologies, LED is also easier to scale up. However, because its pixel pitch is still around 1.9mm, for displaying detailed text and maps, it needs to be viewed from a distance of more than 3 meters to achieve the best visual effect.
